There is a traditional low ABV for this style which was synonymous with Pale Ales for years. Lightning Rod is gold and light bodied with adequate carbonation making it a great beer to transition into spring. Alcohol should be low and not perceived with an assertive hop bitterness, but it is important to differentiate between British hops which are rarely used for flavor/aroma additions like most modern American hoppy beers.
