⌂ > Sierra Nevada Brandy Barrel Ovila Abbey Ale with Mandarin and Cocoa

Woah!  Complexity abounds in this one.  Amber mahogany pour.  Nose is full of bakers chocolate, raspberry, sherry, pepper and leather.  Boozy nose but very smooth initial taste.  Big chocolate notes upfront tamp down the belgian yeast esters and give an almost stout like quality to the beer but left to warm a far more old world character of port wine, brandy, raisins, figs and plums opens up.  Candied orange and boozy barrel notes linger.
