| Description: | Lovely Saint Winifred is a brown lager, as opposed to a brown ale. It is lagered at a much lower temperature over a period of 9 weeks using a complicated and rare "decoction" mash. It pours a deep brown almost red color with a tannish head. The aroma is of rich roasted hazelnuts and spicy hops It has a medium body with a bit of smoothness and some frothy sharp carbonation. The taste starts with very heavy toast with a hint of coffee, nutty notes, earthy hops and some spiciness. The finish is a little spicy from the Hallertau hops used in the brewing. 7% ABV | |
