| Description: | The biggest beer that Baird brews, this Imperial Stout is a bad bad beer -- and we mean that in a good way. Pours opaque black with a red tint and a soft khaki head. Aromas of black coffee, currant, licorice and a slight pine sap. The intial taste is surprisingly bright with hop flavor -- pine and lemon zest which fades to a tannic dark roasted malt character. Deeply complex with flavors of dark plums, deep roasted coffee and a nearly acrid almost smoke like quality lingering. The hops crop up again on the finish leaving a bright citrus undertone not unlike a traditional lemon twist in espresso. 9.5% | |
