The color is very nearly black with thin tan head. The smell is a nice hoppy tropical aroma with light roasted coffee and citrus aromatics and slight burnt sugar with a mild pine hop flavor and gentle hint of dark fruit/prune-like aroma. The taste has light pine and citrus hop qualities in the initial taste with a slight malt roastiness slinking in with a semi-sweet coffee-like roast in the middle. There is a hint of pepper and dry toast in the background as it finishes dry. 8.9% ABV
