Description: | Saint Arnold made this Belgian/American hybrid by combining west coast American hops and rye with Belgian wit yeast to emulate the fruit and spices notes typical of Belgian Ales. It pours a bright gold with a lacy white head. The aroma is light lemon zest from the hops and subtle coriander spice from the yeast strain mixed with a slight graininess. The rye adds a little complexity and Belgian candy sugar has been added to up the ABV and provide a subtle candy sweetness. The rye flavors become more apparent as the beer warms up. Cascade and Centennial hops were used for both flavor and aroma, adding strong floral and citrus peel notes to compliment the spiciness of the yeast. The finish is dry and hides the high alcohol content, making for a refreshingly strong beer that begs another sip. 10% ABV | |
