| Description: | This single hop IPA from Sixpoint’s Spice of Life series features a very exciting hop from New Zealand: Nelson Sauvin. It pours a slightly cloudy orange- copper with a frothy white head. The name Sauvin derives from the closest taste descriptor for this strain, Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Often described as “crushed gooseberry”, the Nelson’s dominant flavor is quite unlike any other hop. A dash of black pepper and allspice frequently appear, typical underpinnings of New Zealand-bred strains. There is a hint of cold-climate white wine fruitiness in this beer and it finishes with a crisp citrus spiciness that is both complex and refreshing. | |
