Description: | Extremely rare and sought after on its own, Bell's Batch 9000 is a great imperial stout weighing in at 12.8% ABV. This version has been aged in bourbon barrels with the addition of molasses and brewer's licorice. It pours an opaque black with a thin tan head that quickly fades from the alcohol and lack of residual sugars. Aromas of coriander, anise, licorice, root beer, molasses and coffee, along with pine and grassy hop aromas lead the charge, with flavors of bitter cocoa, toast, molasses, fig, plum, licorice, dark roasted malt and the blackness of the human heart follow close behind. This dark, intense brew has been aged quietly in a dark cellar refining its sharp edges and becoming a more rounded, characterful, complex and thought provoking beer. Again, 12.8% ABV. | |
