Description: | Long of Tooth, the latest entry from De Proefs extensive Brewmasters Collaboration series, is an English-style old ale thats spent some time aging on toasted oak and cacao. It seems like somewhat of a departure from the norm for both breweries. But its detailed maltiness seems to point to offerings like Surly Darkness, and the fermentation and precise packaging reflect what we have come to expect from these De Proef collaborations. The result is Long of Tooth Ale, dark gold in color with a complex grain bill, rife with notes of toffee, caramel, dried-fruit, cocoa, oaky-vanilla and finishing with classic Belgian character that only Brett can produce. $$$ | |
