| Description: | This Belgian India Pale Ale is named for a local legend who bravely fought in the Battle of Gavere in 1453. Valeir pours a cloudy amber-blonde colour with a frothy white head. Notes of caramelized sugar, ripe pear and apple erupt from the glass along with bready yeast aromas intertwined with a basil-like peppery spice. Very well carbonated, this beer has a sweet, caramel-like flavour with spicy notes of juniper, white pepper, apples, bitter/floral hops and a tinge of alcohol on the tail end. Dry hopped after fermentation and re-fermented in the bottle for lively natural carbonation. 6.5% abv | |
