| Description: | This Imperial Stout is one of the first in a series of high octane beers from Abita. This imperial stout pours dark black with a light ruby tinge, capped with a thin and frothy cocoa-colored head. It gives off a faint aroma of luscious dark chocolate and roasted malts, quickly followed by a subtle hint of smoke and espresso, like sitting in a French cafe. The smoke follows through to the start of each sip but quickly dissipates into light notes of unsweetened chocolate, caramel and toffee. It finishes with a bit of roasted coffee leaving you wanting more. This beer is nice and easy to drink despite weighing in at 8.5% abv. | |
