Description: | The recipe comes from an 1884 Lees brewing notebook. This dark ale is a hoppy strong porter. At 7% this is more like a Baltic porter in strength but surprisingly light on the palate. Only pale and roasted malts are used. It is smooth and supple in the mouth, full of chocolate notes and an understated bitterness that only reveals itself in the lip-smacking dry finish. Ripe plum, orange fruit and a hint of tobacco are noted in the flavor. Enjoy! | |
