Description: | This beer gains its character from an astonishing method of production, revived in the 1980's. Stones are heated to 2200 degrees F. over beech-wood fires and are immersed in the kettle to heat the wort. The stones are then placed in the lagering tanks creating a secondary fermentation. A very smoky tasting beer, with sweet malt undertones resulting from the addition of malted wheat. | |
