| Description: | Doppelsticke Altbier inspired by Zum Uerige, Fass' favorite Düsseldorf brewpub. From the old Düsseldorf dialect for gossip, “Stickum” implies that the brewer was a bit heavy handed with the ingredients in the beer, and only let a few lucky folks in on the secret. Fass deliberately added these extra ingredients and fully intend to let everyone in on it. The beer pours a beautiful garnet hue with a marshmallow-like off white head. As you bring the stange to your nose, you’re greeted with an unmistakable aroma of herbal hops. The taste is that of molasses, rum, and hearty toasted bread, with a finish that is surprisingly bitter and refreshing. |
