| Description: | Dry Gewurztraminer wine. Fair Isle partnered with a Yakima grower to use 450# of organic Gewurztraminer grapes in a low gravity base beer of Pilsner malt and spelt from Linc MALT with the goal of achieving the same notes they love about the wine in their beer. After de-stemming and foot stomping, these crushed grapes underwent re-fermentation with the base beer mentioned above for 70 days. Before packaging they blended in a small amount of an oak aged saison that rested on Syrah pomace. The resulting beer is a beautiful, light-orange hue. Named Loraine after a region just west of Alsace, enjoy the lightly spritzy and notes of lychee, pear and floral bouquet that Gewurztraminer adds for the tapering of summer days. | |
