| Description: | Brewed exclusively with Edelweiss malt from Sugar Creek Malt, Lebanon, IN. This is a very special barley variety whose parents are two well-known Czech Moravian Hana landrace varieties. Originally bred outside of Vienna, Austria, after WWII it lost its production acres and had been forgotten since—until 2016, when Caleb Michalke (Owner/farmer/maltster) brought back a small sample of these barley seeds and started growing and malting this variety in Indiana. The triple decoction mash provides toasted bread and a subtle biscuity sweetness. Hopped with a delicate blend of Czech Kazbek, Saaz, and Saaz Brillant to bring a soft herbal bitterness, complemented by floral notes and a hint of spice. |
