| Description: | A classic Imperial Coffee Stout, something of a lost art in modern beer these days. 2023 version uses Guatemalan single origin coffee. Deep jet black pour with ruby edges. Medium khaki head fades quick but laces well. Soft coffee up front with very little bitterness. Notes of cranberry and plum underlying cocoa and brownie batter. Bitterness on the finish is noticeable but restrained. Just enough to tame the beers initial sweetness. Reminiscent of the early days of Founder's Breakfast Stout, a very well made and balanced beer. | |
