| Description: | This highly anticipated yearly release from Lost Forty is an imperial stout aged in rye whiskey, bourbon, and cabernet barrels. It pours a deep ebony with dark brown head. Aromas of woody vanilla and rich mocha dominate with touches of light smokiness and dark fruit in the background. The flavor follows suit and comes in waves with rich chocolate coming first followed by vanilla and charred wood. A mild figgy nutty cocoa lingers in the background on through the warming boozy finish. 10.5% ABV Edit for Cellar Release - The aging process has muted a lot of the alcohol heat of the finish. It now finishes much less boozy and more of the barrel flavors and chocolate come through. | |
