Description: | A beer to benefit and raise awareness of the Pope House Museum. The beer itself is a great nod to the Belgian dubbel style, but brewed with the addition of figs collected from the fig tree in the yard of the house itself. Pope House Museum is the only African-American house museum in the state of North Carolina. Originally built in 1901, the Pope House was once residence to Dr. Manassa Thomas Pope, the only African-American man to run for mayor of a Southern capital during the midst of Jim Crow. 8.1% ABV | |
