⌂ > Boulevard Imperial Stout Aged in Port, French Oak and Rye Whiskey Casks

Deep ebony pour with burgandy edges.  Head is quick to fade.  Nose has aromas of hot cocoa, brandy and sherry boozy alcohol notes over fermented plums and a hint of coffee.  Red wine grape forward with notes of raspberry and stiff port wine that fade into cocoa, caramel, vanilla and toffee.  The port barrels are the dominate note and contribute a vinous character to the mouthfeel as well but never overwhelm.  Look for notes of charred oak, pepper and milk chocolate as it warms   Extremely complex while still being approachable.  One of the best wine barrel aged stouts we have encoutered.
