Description: | This beer was brewed with 50 pounds of Goodflow honey and then aged on American Oak for over a year with another 100 pounds of honey. The beer was then re-fermented again with hop infused honey and bottled, making for a production process of over 2 years. Nose is subtle but deep with notes of hay, oats, fresh cut grass, honeysuckle, white grapes, citrus zest and grapefruit. Initial taste has a mild lemon tartness with a grapefruit bitterness and mango hop note bigger than you would expect for the style. Mid taste is sweet clover honey, orange marmalade, oats, vanilla bean and citrus zest. Bitter grapefruit pith and pine resin and a very subtle oak character linger on the finish. medium carb holds the exceptionally complex flavors together and keeps the beer drinking clean despite its 10% heft. | |
