⌂ > Deschutes Black Butte Porter XXX

Deschutes 30th Anniversary release.  This Imperial Porter is brewed differently every year.  This years version uses 8 diiferent types of oak barrels, with notes of salted chocolate, whiskey and dried fruit..  The final beer is a 50/50 blend of barrel aged beer and fresh beer.  The chocolate and dried fruit notes are fairly subdued but build as the beer warms.  Barrel notes are sticky sweet notes of  vanilla and brown sugar that contrast the roasty malt character of the base beer.  Finishes with warming alcohol and toffee. 13.6% ABV
