| Description: | This dark Belgian Abbey Ale has been aged on Brandy and Bourbon barrels. Pours an opaque garnet red. Nose is sweet and boozy but not cloying with notes of vanilla, spicy oak, port wine, toffee and fresh berries. Initial taste has flavors of black cherry, oak, brandy and belgian candi sugar. Letting the beer warm punches up the complexity revealing more subtle barrel notes. Deeply complex but still balanced and not overwhelming. | |
