Description: | One of the most esoteric beers we have ever tried from Dogfish. At the same time, it checks all the right boxes and delivers a compelling barrel aged barleywine. Pours a cloudy ruby bronze. Aroma is complex tart dark fruit notes, brown sugar, toffee, pear skin, wine barrel and leather. Initial taste is grape must heavy - syrah grape, oak and plum notes. Let this beer warm well over 50 degrees to appreciate it's full potential. Warming opens the deep sticky malt character. notes of brown sugar, candied figs, orange zest, currants with a deep boozy fig and leather tannin note on the finish. | |
