Description: | Brewed in the Leo vs. Ursus series of beers. This series explores the dichotomy of UK and American brewing styles, often marrying styles and philosophies from both sides of the pond. This Rye Double IPA pours a brilliant reddish bronze with persistant, dense light khaki head. Aroma is fresh fir trees, cracked peppercorn, burnt caramel. The beer is intensely bitter with notes of pine resin, earthy spice and fresh grapefruit juice. Midtaste is very malt heavy with a sticky toffee like character not unlike a british winter warmer. Brutal hop character and warming alcohol on the finish. | |
