Description: | Not to be confused with the very rare original rum barrel version, this newer vintage is a blend of quad and blonde ales aged on bourbon and wine barrels along with tangerine zest, apricots and vanilla. Intial aromas are sour lactic acid, sharp to the point of vinegar. The aroma quickly opens to full bodied apricot mango and tangerine citrus notes with lingering oak and vanilla. Medium high carbonation cuts the leading sour and funk notes quickly. Tart orange, honeysuckle, mandarin skin and boozy swwet leather and white pepper bourbon notes. Deeply complex. Let it warm to open up more complexity. | |
