Description: | The English-style porter pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, oak, almond, light plum/apple, light salt, herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. The aging (done in Wild Turkey barrels) present pleasantly balanced and complex aromas dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Tastes of baker's chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, oak, almond, light plum/apple, light salt, herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, vanilla, bourbon, oak, nuttiness,with an earthy, nutty, toasted finish. Light-moderate dryness bourbon/oak spiciness as well. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. | |
