| Description: | Freetail's famous Smoked Imperial Stout rested on Elijah Craig Small Batch 12 Year barrels. 2/3 of the batch has been aged on barrels and then blended back with a fresh batch of La Muerta. The blending has done wonders, delivering a beer that has all the barrel character, without losing the components of the base beer. The smoked malts still lead here, giving way to a charred oak and tannin flavor. Big roasted coffee notes follow along with a linger boozey heat. | |
