| Description: | The Alternate Takes series uses classic Dogfish Head beers and turns them on their head. A supreme feat considering Dogfish's track record of "off center" beers. This batch takes their Belgian Dark Ale, Raison D'etre and grape must and then ferments it in wine barrels. The result is a slightly tart, full bodied beer with strong notes of fresh plum, American Oak, vanilla and a nearly tangiable fuzzy mouthfeel. Extrememly complex, notes of bakers cocoa, orange zest and poached pear appear as it warms. | |
