The latest from Mikkeller's new Berliner Weisse Series, Hallo Ich Bin, this tart, German-style wheat beer is brewed with the addition of peaches. On the nose, notes of uncooked sourdough bread and fresh lemon juice dominate. Juicy, ripe peach comes through in the flavor, accompanied by a subtle, lemony lactic acidity that is more nuanced than what is typical for the style. The tart, stone fruitiness is balanced by a light, doughy wheat malt backbone. Light bodied with moderate carbonation, the beer finishes crisp and bone-dry.
