Description: | Dionysus is Wild Heaven's second barrel-aged offering, a blend of six unique beers. The base is Eschaton, an oaked belgian quad, refermented and aged in tequila barrels. Add to that three belgian sours aged in Bordeaux barrels and two other sours brewed for this blend. Pouring a slightly hazy auburn, you're greeted with a strong aroma of tart cherries, lingering alcohol and licorice spicyness. Tastes of vanilla, subtle chocolate and lots of dark fruit. The complexity of this beer shows itself as it warms, the tartness turning sweeter and leaving you with a dry, light warming alcohol finish. Beware, it goes down so smooth you won't notice the 10.5% ABV. $$ | |
