This beer takes a fairly traditional Belgian Quad style beer and turns it on it's ear with the very clearly American tradition of bourbon barrel aging. Pouring a deep opaque ruby, the beer mixes dry oat and caramel malt and warming alcohol aromas with deep plum for a tart note not unlike fresh raspberries. The beer's once overly bright piney hop bite is all but gone replaced by soft caramel and fig notes that give way to oaky vanilla, toasted marshmallow and a juicy plum finish all underpinned by a boozy thread of whiskey. 11%+ ABV
